There is no entrance fee for the Craters of the Moon! But they expect a small donation, because there is always someone who has a look at the carpark.

The gates at the Aratiatia Rapids open automatically 2-3 times a day to let the water flow.

The Rainbow Lodge in Taupo is a quite big but nevertheless nice backpacker hostel.
